I'm going ti look at a 86 350X tomorrow. It's the original owner selling it. It also has the original Honda plastic.

Was there any problems with the 86 350X's? Any weak points?

He's asking $1500. He made some kind of rack for it, took off the 13/40 sprokets and geared it A LOT lower. He told me he used it for hunting. Weird!

What is similar, power wise, to a stock 350X? 300ex? Warrior? 400ex?

Thanks.

A 350X blasts... The only possible weak point would be that the rear bearings and carrier could fail prematurly if it wasn't rebuilt properly (about 50 to 100 bucks each rebuild, provided the carrier wasn't destroyed when they failed). But the easiest fix to that would be to buy a tapered bearing carrier from an aftermarket company. I have one in each of my bikes. They have grease fittings, so they last quite a long time. The other weak point??? would be that you can pull the front tire up in every gear including 6th gear with very little effort (maybe not for all riders). I would compare them at least to a 400ex, cause they'll crush the other two you compared it to.

1500 is a great price.... good luck

Bought it. $1500. Needs rear plastic and a good cleaning. It still has the original sprokets! I misunderstood him about him gearing it down, a friend of his who also had a 350X geared his down, so he was thinking about it also, but didn't so it.

Wow, original sprockets! Other than the rear plastic, a few small dings in the gas tank, and being dirty, it's in awsome shape.

What are you doing with your plastic? I'd be interested in it. What is wrong with it?

You guys say $1500 is a good price? I have 4 350x's and haven't paid over $900 for any of them. They might not be in as good as shape, or maybe its just where your located.

Thanks

The last one I saw for sale was a '86. The ad said $2000. I don't know what he had into it, I didn't even bother calling!

Hey Phil, will your wife let you sell the 350x yet? I'm always looking for more. Whats left of your parts machine 350x? I talked to you last year about buying your 350x bottom end, are you still willing to sell it? I haven't tore into my 2 engines yet but I'm pretty sure both of them are toast. Do you have any good heads or cyclinders?

Is that one for $2000 located in Brainard? I don't think there was anything special about it, it was just stock. It was pretty clean, he had pics on the internet.

What does your collection consist of now? I know you have the 350x, blaster, atc 250r, trx 250r and the 400ex, is that it?

Thanks

Hey,

I probably will never sell it now! My brother in law just sold a pair of 250SX's for about $1400 EACH! Threewheelers are holding their value. I still ride the 350X once in a while, but I had a good scare the last time I took it out. Actually I let my brother ride it and I was taking pictures/video. He got near the top of a mine hill and the chain came off! I went to rescue him, we got it turned around, and as it started to slide down the hill, I jumped on. I have done this trick many times before. This time I had no helmet because I was taking pictures. I didn't even think about no helmet as I jumped on this sliding 350X. I grabbed all the brakes, but it started to fishtail going down the hill. All of a sudden, it rolled sideways. I dove off down hill and started rolling/swimming/scrambling to get out of the way. Every time I did a log roll, I caught a glimpse of the 350X tumbling/bouncing about 10 feet behind me. Finally after what seemed forever, I got out of the way just as it bounced past, then it came to rest against a big poplar tree. The amazing thing is nothing got seriously bent or broken! There was a small crack in the rear fender that got a bit larger, but that is it! We were bummin' because my brother was holding the camera, but didn't use it. He just stood there, breathing loudly through his mouth!

I got a 250EX for Toni last February. It is a pretty fun little scoot. I can pull wheelies in 3rd with it pretty easily.
I still have my '79 ATC110, from many moons ago. It was the first ATV I ever owned.

Good, I'm glad you said you will never sell it, I don't need any more 3 wheelers. Have 5 total now. I'm mainly trying to concentrate on my 2 parts machines, putting them together and making 1 good 350x to beat on. I need to build a motor, swing arm bearings, rear bearings, chain, rebuild the fork springs/seals, front bearings, and weld the frame, then it should be ready to be beat on.

Hey, what are the chances you can hook me up with a computer job in Grand rapids or where ever you work? I'm going to need to find something probably after next year, and I'd like to do something with computers since that is what I just went to school for.

How much do you want for your bottom end?

Thanks
