Years ago I bought a new Warrior. The mechanic warned me that Yamaha just doesn't clean off the machinings from their parts (metal filings) very well. He advised me to ride the bike for no more than 2 hrs, then change the oil and filter!! Well, when I pulled the filter off, sure enough there was a GOOD SIZED pile of filings. You might want to follow this advice!!

 

I'm an Auto Tech and that is very good advice for any new machine.
There's always going to be filings from break in even if they clean the parts well before they put them together. I changed my oil & filter in my new cars or trucks that I've had at no more than 1500 miles. Streetbikes no more than 500 miles,and ATV's and off road machines at about 5 hours. Later
