They're not Dunlops, they're Otshu 501s.
As far as grip, they are excellent...but as you discovered...kinda fragile. You could get some 6ply Razrs or any knobby tire to keep a somewhat similar grip and 4 or 6 ply for great puncture resistance.
PS...in 1 year...I don't have 600$ spent on my shee yet

And you're damn lucky they put it under warranty!!

the 400EX doesn't come stock with dunlops. it comes with ohtsu's. so far all the ones i have seen seem to hold up pretty well. their a good all around tire. you probably just had some bad luck. sorry to hear about you misfortune.

the stock Honda tires that came on the 250R and 400ex are actually excellent tires, but as mentioned, they are only 2 ply and wear too fast.

Funny, I think the stockers are excellent wearing tires. I've only had one small hole in them after 2 yrs of riding. They're worn now and I have 6 ply Razr's. OUT.

My stockers have been great, and I ride fast over some really nasty terrain (i.e. barbed wire -oops!-; rocky creek beds; cactus and sharp pointy shale), as well as jump it alot at the track. Maybe I have just been lucky, cuz I haven't gotten a flat yet. They are finally wearing down though (since April) and I am looking forward to a nice set of Shredders or Razor's when they finally go! I have a set of goodyear tires that are basically the same as stock and I put them on 3months ago brand new and now they are almost bald. That just shows how much I ride. I would hate to see how fast razrs would wear. Hey juggalo if I was you I would think again before buying fast trekkers. I havn't had good luck with them. They are prone to bending handlebars if you know what I mean cuz they don't slide well in ruts. They ball up in mud way to easy also.
