what do you guys think I should ask for my raptor? I am thinking $7500. I want to sell it and build a 350 powervalve R with a laeger chassis. Don't get me wrong my raptor flies and I love it but I enjoy building different toys. I have receipts totaling over $13,500 with the cost of the quad and mods, it has about 50 hours on it since new and about 20 hours on the trinity big bore motor kit. please check it out on my site my site I know that I wouldn't sell it for less than $7500 (if it's not worth that I will keep it) it IS flawless and has had the oil and filter changed after EVERY 2 rides, and ran on nothing other than 108 octane VP gas since the big bore. PLEASE do NOT email me asking me to sell mods as it goes whole with all mods.

I wish you all the best of luck, but you may be sadly dissappointed at what people are willing to pay for your machine. I am selling my Raptor, and took ALL of my aftermarket parts off the bike, because you are lucky if you get back pennies on the dollar for modifications. I have a $20,000 Banshee that I will never sell, because nobody will ever insult me by wanting to steal it away for next to nothing. Besides, the way it now performs made it worth every penny, as far as I'm concerned. Sadly, it seems people are less afraid of a clean, stock machine. That has been my experience anyway. I truly hope you can get what you're asking for, and don't blame you a bit for wanting at least $7500. Maybe you can find someone willing to appreciate all you've done and fork over the cash for it.

Well, if didn't already have a modded Raptor with a 680 kit, you can bet that I would be the guy knocking on your door.

As Scott mantioned though, it seems as if people are afraid of modified quads compared to a stock one. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you can buy a quad with all those mods at 50% off. The only thing a person would really need to do is revalve the shocks and that comes pretty cheap these days.

You might try ebay and start the pricing at $8500.-, you never know who is out there looking for what!

Good luck DsEater!

if I tried ebay, how would I ship it? Do you think anyone would bid if I said it had to be picked up?

Yes, alot of the quads for sale on ebay require pick-up or many times the seller will post that he will deliver up to X (100 miles) amount of miles form his city/town location. Be sure to leave your e-mail address on the ebay, to allow people to get other pic's and ask questions.

It's funny how so many people are ready to get rid of their Raptor. I've thought about selling mine and have wondered what I'd be able to get for it. I've probably got less than 30 hours total on mine with lots of mods and 2 years left on the Y.E.S. factory warranty and I figured I'd be lucky to get $6600 for it.

I figured I'd be ahead to sell some of the aftermarket stuff seperate and only get about $5700 for the quad, warranty, aftermarket skids and Lonestar axle. I'd have to leave axle on unless I sold it on an exchange basis and I'd probably not fool with taking off the GYT-R guards, bumper or PRM skid since they probably wouldn't sell for that much used anyway.

That would leave me left over with:
Elka triple piggies with zero preload [$750 Qshop advertised price] used about 4 rides other than in the yard(they're mint shape)
Custom fit black Shockwears [$42 direct from Outerwear +shipping) designed for Elkas with zero-preload
Yoshimura full race pipe [$575 +shipping as found on the Yoshi website] (polished stainless header,Ti silencer and removeable spark arrestor) used about 15 minutes, (mint also)

I'd be doing good to end up with $675 for shocks and shockwears and probably good to get $500 for the pipe.
Either way, when we try to sell aftermarket goodies or a like new quad, we should expect to lose our butts on it.

Any further suggestions on how to maximize the sale of a modded Raptor?

Heres the thing: Very few people have that kind of dough lying around and second if someone is going to lay down that much CASH.they can just buy brand new. i too was going to build myself and R but by the time i figured out how much it was going to run me..i just went with a new Bike. It dosn't pay...Bikes are a terrible investment.......

if i were to turn around and sell mine now i would lose $2000 easy with all my mods..who in their right mind is going to pay 7500 for your bike that you MODIFIED and MESSED with when they can go and buy a stock bike new..BRAND NEW

that the way it is.kidd

you never make you r money back..you vets should know that!!

EBAY's definately the way to go. You can even set up something where you meet them half way. Remember, there's an *** for every seat. If you do meet someone make sure you bring someone else with you. You never know these days.
Stranger stuff has happened. Later

I have a local place that's OK. I've been hittin that. I may even go this afternoon. I lovin it with the new Elka shocks. I'm hittin the jumps pretty hard. Reminds me of when I was young and fearless. Did you get your jetting figured out yet? We gotta meet up sometime for a ride. Later
