I would like your recommendations on the best slip-on aftermarket muffler for the DS650. I want one that is not to loud but will increased the bottom and mid range. Also a CDI box that will increase the rev. limiter to 8500 RPM. I have a K&N Filter and will have to rejet. What would the recommended for jet size and needle valve settings with aftermarket muffler and CDI box with K&N filter? What worked best for you? Thanks for any suggestions. I also plan to go to 22" rear tires and 15 tooth front sprocket.

Knutz Concepts carries Team Pami ignition boxes with no rev limiter[same as the Ron Woods box] for $290. We had 8500 RPM limited boxes, but were forced to dis-continue them due to supply problems. I have them in stock and ready to ship. If intrested, call me at (702)236-6852 between 8:00A.M. and 7:00P.M. Monday-Friday, or e-mail me at knutzconcepts@msn.com

You'll probably need a tuneable disc based slip-on for lowest noise.

The occational missed shift will not hurt the motor, but continuous abuse shuch as regular reving to ten grand will take it's toll. I have no rev limiter on my motor and let dozens of ham fisted riders take it out all the time. So many shifts have been missed on it that I find gear shavings on my magnetic oil drain plug. I'm confident that my tranny will go away befor it gets over revved and dammaged.

Knutz, what do you charge for a high compression piston & cam & heavy duty valve springs? i dont want to get too extreme on the compression because i want reliability.i'd like to have more than what ive got,but i heard that the higher you go on the compression the lower the reliability.i do mostly fast trail and some play drag racing.i was thinking of a mid-range combo.thanks for your help.

As I recall, the Pami kits somewhat allow you to decide which compression you want. They have pistons for normal pump gas (lower compression) and race gas (high compression.) The fact they're actually thinking about someone's pocketbook aside from their own is really a pleasant surprise in this industry. So I guess if you're looking for a slightly lower compression, I'd bet they have what you need.
