I like to ride hard and fast most of the time, say about 75%. The rest of the time I play in the mud or on slow rocky trails where clearance is a must.
I want tires which wont make my quad handle like a pig but are reasonably good in the mud. I also dont want to make it tippy by raising it too much. Im thinking about either a 26 or 27 inch something. Is a 27 inch going to hurt my sport riding much? If so I will go with 26 inchers.
Anyone have suggestions on brand and size that will suit my riding style.
Thanks in advance for the help...

i just put 26" vampires on my prairie 400 4x4 last week. so far i like them, it did not change the ride that much until you hit the muddy stuff and then you get to have fun. check out the following pics

I have 27" 589MTs on my 650 Prairie. They work great in the mud and also fast trail riding. I went with the 27" tires instead of the 26", because the 27' rear tire is only 11" wide. I mounted them on the stock rims, still have good clearence from the gas tank. You can see pics of the tires on my 650 on my site.

Man that thing looks sweet with those tires!!!
Did you do enough driving on the stock tires make a comparison between them, specifically high speed cornering and handling, and did it affect the ability to power-slide.
I love the way mine handles now but the stock tires really suck in the mud.
Oh one last question exactly what size are the front and rear.

Those are great pictures, slot. So now that you guys have torture tested both the Prairie 650 and the Grizzly 660, which one is better at what? I'd love to hear your opinion.

The September issue of ATV Magazine has a huge mud-tire shoot-out. They also talk about their trail manners.
