I purchased a 1987 suzuki quadracer 500 from a guy on ebay 2 months ago. I still haven't recieved my quad and I know it should be here because I was getting it from new york and I reside in pa. I've sent this bum numerous emails but i've gotten no response. Is there anything i can do to get my money back? Should I call the cops or what because I have no idea where to start. Please Help.

Start with Ebay. They actually offer some form of insurance with every purchase. Next, there is a special division of the FBI that was set up for Net Fraud. Be demanding!!!

Also, trace his activities on Ebay and, if you have a cancelled check, phone number or address, do some follow-up.

Run the phone number on "reversedirectory.com" and confirm the address. Next, try to get a neighbor's address and phone number. Neighbors will usually tell you if the person is a rat.

Finally, call the cops in the rat's home town. Let them know the problem and try to file a report. Perhaps the rat has a bad history with the cops.

Good luck. Ebay sucks like that.

If you used a credit card call the company and dispute the charge. I almost bet this guy didn't take credit cards.

I didn't use a check or a credit card. I sent him money orders. I'm gonna find out everything I can about the guy and hopefully get my money back. This stuff pisses me off. It was supposed to be a suprise gift for my son and people have to do this ignorant stuff. One thing I can say is , not everyone on ebay are A******s like this guy because I've bought quite a few products there. If I can't get my money back I'm gonna hire a private investigator to find this guy. That way I can beat the crap out of him and get my money my way. Thank you nice people so much for all of the information.

Definetly start with ebay, They are VERY helpful with fraud claims, As a side note since you mailed him the money orders you can probably nail him for mail fraud One enlighting note you can not sell on ebay without a verified address on a credit card, They will definetly find the deadbeat

I've heard in the past, and rightfully so eBay is/should be VERY concerned about things like this. If it was common place for people to get ripped off using their site, then no one would use it and they'ed be six feet under. I'm SURe they'll do whatever they can to help you. I also like the idea of getting the guy busted for mail fraud - that'ed be a nice touch on top of all the other stuff.
