Am I getting a Good Deal?

Last year I bought a 1998 Warrior Brand New. It still is in perfect condition,
with less than 60 hrs on it. I need something that will putt around and go up hills
a little slower without having to slip the clutch. And something that will go
through some deeper snow.Should I put on a size 12 front sprocket and get
some awesome mudtires or should I buy a limited Edition Wolverine from local
dealer.

Here's the deal: $3300 for my 1 year old Warrior and then $5300 (he wanted $6699)
for a new 99 Wolverine with a big tire kit/rims, new headlights, new fmh? pipe,
and rejetted.

Is this a good deal??? Will the tires cause bearing problems, and steering
problems, they are huge. Thinking of buying it on Oct. 8th, any help would be

Okay, first off you shouldnt have to slip the clutch at all on a Warrior to climb hills. Mine will climb anything I point it at and I've never had to slip the clutch. Just use the right gear! Next the Warrior isnt a 4x4 and wont act like one. If you want better performance in a tire go with a Maxxis All track I use the 22x11x9 and they allow me to traverse mud and snow that my stock tires would just spin in. If you really want the wolverine dont trade in the Warrior because the dealer is ripping you off badly. Sell the Warrior for about $4000-4300 and find a nice year old wolverine from a private party. You'll save a ton of money and you can buy a big foot kit and pipe from magazine ads and save a ton of cash. I'd like a Wolverine myself after riding with one but you'd be suprised at how capable a Warrior can be with the right tires.

 

I agree with mr45 the only time I have had
trouble with hills on my Warrior it was my
fault not the bikes. I normally run holeshots
but I have 22'mud machines for nasty stuff
and they work great. Try the different tires
before you take a beating on selling the Warrior. I good rider on a two wheel drive
can go most places a 4x4 goes ( within reason)

 

Darrin,thanks for posting ''within reason'' when you said a 2wd quad can go the same places that a 4x4 quad can with a good rider.It just saved me from posting a very lengthy story.But hey'I get your point.Within reason,the 2wd quads will amaze most people in alot of places.-----BILL

 

I have to agree. I ride my friend's quad and with all the riding we do, only about once a week do we find a place where we can't take his 2wd quad. If we had a winch, we could go at least 1/2 of those places.
