Is repairing a puncture in atv tires REALLY reliable?

I have always just put a tube of tire sealent in and have never had problems sence. I had it in three of the tires on my scrambler and never had a problem with those tires again. Patches wont hold due to the extreme flexing an atv tire does. Plugs are good for short term but The real thick tire sealent has always worked best for me.

When you say "in" what do you mean? Are you referring to a "fix a flat" liquid/foam type of product that goes inside the tire via the valve stem? Is there one specifically for ATV tires? Thanks.

Slime (brand name) tire sealant goes into your tire. It will seal up small holes right away and will prevent future flats as well. If you ride anywhere with thorns it is a must. It also helps if you have softer stock type tires which puncture easily. You just remove your valve core and put the stuff in. Re-inflate and ride it around for a little while and that's it.

I had a flat in my rubicon. i used a low pressure tire plug and it seems to work great. i do alot of hard riding. and so far it has not lost any pressure. I bought the gun with plugs from dennis kirk magazine. it was like 50 bucks but i think it was well worth it

i've always just put plugs into my tires. my 300ex had 2 plugs, and in intnensive trail riding, they never came out,,,now my turf tamers have a plug , and i go out and do burnouts and donuts on the pavement, and it's still holding air as tight as ever. i say just a plug should do fine for ya, but you can run some slime or some type of foam or liquid along with the plug just for insurance.
