HMF Muffler, any recommendations?

Has anybody installed the HMF slip on muffler yet? I am considering buying one because it is priced right but wanted to know if there are any fit, leakage, or installation problems with it. How about noise and power increase?

My HMF should be here this weekend. The price is what caught my eye. But I paid another $30 for a spark arrestor for it. It sounds like a nice pipe except the db rating is like 98 !!!
I talked with a guy from rsperformance. They sell Cannondales with the HMF pipe right on them. I just wanted his opinion. He said they are the best bang for the buck. He said they are a little company & don't have much money for advertising. He said the fit & finish are great & the power gain is too. He also said it has a deeper tone than a Big Gun & others because it has a bigger canistor, Though I'm not sure how much it weighs. He said because of the deeper sound it didn't "seem" as loud.
HMF told me that when they dyno'd the pipe it made 2 more HP than stock. But most of the power wasn't peak HP, but lowend & mid. Which is what I'm after, helping out the lowend.
I also saw that a website about the Suzuki Haybussa (sp?) 1300cc crotch rocket reccommended the HMF as the best pipe.
I guess time will tell. I'm a little worried being that I bought a pipe no-one else has. I hope it works out. Otherwise I'm out about $220 !

I don't think any of us in this sport have even been 100% perfect with our choices. It sounds like it may be a pretty good unit. Even if it turned out to be horrible, as far as wasted money on ATVs goes, $220 is a pretty darn cheap mistake. I'm sure many of the other guys on the forum could tell you about much worse things to happen than choose the wrong pipe. The good news for the rest of us is we'll finally know how good the HMF is, and if it turns out to be a quality piece of equiptment then they'll probably sell a few more that way.

Thank you Chris I all most got over paying $400 for the wrong pipe. Andrew the good thing with buying your pipe is that you are in Ohio and HMF is in Ohio. I bought one from the other side of the world and the sorry ^^&&^^***_)_)()_()(^^&$$#$#%$# that sold me his piece of %^&%&*^(*&%*&*&% is laughing at us yanks that bought his sorry %^*$%^$&(*&(&(*%^&^#$$@&^% piece of junk. Due not Buy Cuctom-X that is my opinion. Thanks again Chris I think I got 2 cents back now I am only down $399.98.

I have the HMF on my Raptor and it looks great. Much lighter than the stocker. The can is aluminum and really looks sharp. The sound on mine is a low grunt but like someone said, it doesn't sound as loud as it is. Some of my riding buddies and onlookers said it was definately louder than stock but sounded so cool that they didn't get bothered. Power is very good also on my quad. Plus their service is top notch.

Guys,
I got the pipe on & rode for a bit. I jetted up 2 sizes but may try & move the needle too. The pipe is lightweight & looks great. No ceramic coating, just aluminum. (ps, they anodize them in blue, red, yellow etc) but I'm an old fashioned kind of guy & just went with bare aluminum. The fit is great, though I may buy new rubber washers at ACE to mount it with. The sound is cool. At an idle it is deep & fairly quiet. But crack it & it barks. It's loud but not as annoying as say a piped 300EX. It's sound is pretty cool. But still too loud for me really. I need to get the carb set perfect, but there is more lowend power there. They only claim to get 2 more peak HP out of the pipe, most is bottom end power. The flow is great, standing 20ft behind at the bike at idle I can feel the exhaust pulse. I have a feeling new rear 20X11X9 Holeshots are in need bad now, I think my Kendas are going to get spun even worse. There is more power there, but I need to fine tune the carb to see how much. I've read post about a slipon on a DS & wheels up in 3rd gear easy. I wasn't getting that, but the front was lifting easier in 1st & 2nd.
I may ride with NewDSlover Saturday. I'll try to tune it better & see how I fare. Though going against a Big Gun Full system & Mud shark tires I feel I may get the worst of it
I'll report back though.

Just the slip on, I think that's all they offer.
I looked at the dyno charts for the Raptor, (none shown for DS).
The only one that showed a big increase was the full system with a clamp on filter & dynojet kit.
The Raptor slipon & full system with stock airbox didn't show a huge gain either, maybe they rate them "real" instead of like FMF where they say they got 10HP, but neglect to mention it was at 9,000 rpm.
Time will tell if it's a good pipe I guess.
