solenoid mounting for 650

where is the best location to mount the solenoid on the 650, they don`t give a whole lot of info where. any help would be appreciated.

I've heard one person mount it under the battery on the frame rail. It is near the exhaust tube though. Another person mounted it in the storage trunk to keep the mud off of it and prevent corrosion. I mounted it under the right side(if your sitting on it) fender on the aluminum brace. I used some 1/4" threaded rod, cut it to length, and bent the rod around the aluminum brace. Pretty clean installation and no cutting/drilling into the machine. I did however have to buy a longer cable wire for the positive cable. I was mounting a warn 2500.

yo i put it in the storage box unde the seat.all the wires were mounted with the exsisting wires.i put on a warn 2500.i did have to cut a 4 holes in the front of box but ran wires through rubber gromet,to protect from water.its worked fine so for.been through water and dust no problem.later
