My buddies warrior is down for the count. His inner axle nut is so tight we took two pipe wrenches and 4 foot fence posts as handle extensions and pulled. They inner nut will not budge. Any suggestions on how to break it loose? We are useing the lefty loosey & right tighty thinking on this.

You could always cut it off with a Dremel.

It should have come loose. look very closely at the threads leading into the nut and you'll know which way to turn it. You must be going the wrong way.

Heat it up with a torch before trying to take it off. Don't get it too hot though.

Heating it with the torch is the best bet, and to loosen the nut, you should be prying up towards the fenders. Good luck

I'd clean the threads off real good, and keep a coat of WD-40 on it for a day or two. Then break out the propane torch... If that don't work I'd take off the axle carrier (with the axle in it) and take it to the local machine shop. They could probably cut them off.

This may sound crazy but instead of soaking it in wd-40, use PB Blaster. It can be purchased at auto zone, even found it at walmart the other day. I have been using it on my old Jeep CJ-7's for years to loosen rusted parts, it is really amazing stuff.

heat it up and then use a big 24" cresson wrench for leverage. Maybe even try that before heating it up.
