Look on Hondas website at Honda.com go to motorcycles and click home. I dunno if this is a street bike or a quad that they are talkin about but it says "The Future of Performance Arrives on 9/20/01"!!!!!! I hope that it is a 450ex or a 650ex. But neway check it out.

With only a 12 hours or so to go, I dont know why we dont all shut up and wait. But I am just as bad. I told my wife to wake me up ad midnight tonight so I can see what my next quad will be. From talking with a fe dealers, here is what they think is going to happen.

There will be several new street bikes, a new mx bike (cr450f), possibly a watercraft and since the 300EX is getting axed, hopefully well see a new quad. I would bet on a 650EX though. Honda is proud to have the best handling quad and although the Warrior (hunk of $h!t) is the most sold quad, the 400EX dominates everything else from mx to trail riding, etc. Maybe a 450EX is in the wings but I would be tickled pink if they simply released a 400EX with reverse.

Bring back the R!!!!! We'll use it only for closed circuit racing, we promise.

 

While your at it bring back three-wheelers. I'll take a Tri-Z, a 350X, heck even a 200X, toss in a side order of Big Red, a scoop of Tecate and even a 250 Quadracer. Ummm yummy yummy.

 

Seeing how no one has an idea of what this new &quot;high performance machine&quot; will be, why is everyone speculating a 650 or 450. I realize that a 650 would be competitive with the DS or raptor but what would the 450 compete with? Why not a 500 or 550? That would be the $hit.

Of course nothing replaced displacement, but the 450 honda is reported to produce 55 horses. Can you imagine a quad with 55 HP? Who needs a 650 or an 800 for than matter. I'll take a 450EX with lightning speed and excelleration, equal handling as a 400Ex..... and reverse.

 

honda will never put a 650ex out they dont care about cc's they want reliability and handling so i think it will be a 450ex

 

freakystone is spot on, I think. Look at the banner, it has a street for street bike, rocks for some sort of all terrain vehicle, and water for the new Honda watercraft. its plain and simple(I HOPE!!!!!)

 

Yah, 650 is big, but what about a 500EX. What horses does that produce? Any research on that? Is everyone thinking 450 because they reported the 55Hp? No need for big cc's, but what about the 500 range? Anyone know?

I realize it is all speculation now, but what do you think? I want to hear why you are thinking 450 or 650?
