He devil boy I dont think it was a "kick in the nuts" just because YOU dont like it doesn't mean it isnt appealing to some other riders. Honda is timid and they love to wait and wait and wait so give them a year and then ........ maybe. Whp knows maybe they are just waiting for the rite moment or possibly they are waiting till they get the bugs out like some other companies dont do Cough cough YAMAHA cough cough. Zeebo

Good one Killer250R. I think you bring up a good point. Honda wont just throw an engin into a frame and sell it. They will test and test and test it again untill they know that there will not be any problems with it. That is how they got their dependability reputation.

1. The 400ex is still doing great to be the smallest of the bigger quads. Why would they come out with a bigger one when it isn't completely necessary?

2. The 4x4 market has increased a lot in the past years. There has only been about 2-3 different sport quads introduced to the sport market in the past couple years, so Honda doesn't really have but a 2-3 quad competition. But in the 4x4 or utility market, they have quite a few other ATV's to compete with.

I kinda agree with RAPTORMAN.....(in a way)

1. They have a whole lot of utility quads, and just a few sport quads. For Utility, we got: Foreman Rubicon, Foreman/ES/S/, Rancher/4X4ES/ES/4X4, Recon/ReconES, Fourtrax, the new Rincon!!! Compared to Sport: 400EX, 300EX, 250R!

I like the new Rincon, I think it looks pretty cool. Its something different. I just believe that I would pick the Rincon for utility quads before I would ANY other big utility's, such as Grizz 660, P650, ANYDAY!

Honda's likely logic: The Rubi was state-of-the-art only 2 years ago. Since then have come the Prairie 650, Grizzly 660, and Sportsman 700 (soon). Why this explosion of innovation in SUQs? Because these are what is selling the hottest, and they start around $7K. And buyers of these rigs accessorize to the max, with plows, gun racks, winches, big tires, bags, trailers and more. These accessory items have a much higher profit margin than the machines themselves. Many people can write the cost of a "working" quad off their income taxes. Who is riding these tractors? Old pharts like me, of which there are many more than young racing types, and who generaly have fatter wallets than the young whippersnappers. SUQ stands for sport utility quad, of course. When Honda's new sport machine upgrade of the 400EX arrives, it will be well worth the wait for fans of Big Red.
