Any ideas where I can find this part used? I have been looking on e-bay for months along with other sites. At some point, I am going to buy a new one from Yamaha ($31.64). What's everyone doing with theirs when switching to the Pro-Design or the K&N filter?

Put'm up on e-bay folks!

You can have mine. It's in the top of the garage with all the rest of the take-offs. Just curious, why spend $32 on the stocker, when you can have a K&N for about $40-45? When I took my stocker off for the K&N I was embarrassed for Yamaha. My lawnmower has a better air filter.

I run White Brothers Powerflow air filters. I have four of them that I constantly switch. I would like to be able to already have the filter on the screen portion so I just pull one off and throw it in a plastic bag and then pull one out of the plastic bag and install it. It is kind of messy swapping the air filter elements at a trailhead or on the track. It takes quite a bit of rubbing with a rag to get it off my hands even after washing with soap.

I should be able to run my old stock one down if you still need one.

PhilMoore,

Why do you think the factory setup is so bad? I think the new K&N filter uses the same airbox with the airbox lid locking it into place. Do you not like foam filters? I am wondering why it is so bad. I ride in rain storms, snow, coal dust, and other conditions and have never had a problem.

I run the White Brothers Powerfilter. It flows better than the stock filter. I only run the first 2" of the airbox lid (cut it and only use the back portion when I powerwash the quad after every ride). I am 100% sure the filter is properly seated and locked into place because I can see everything with my lid setup. Have you experienced a problem where dirt slips by? If so, do you think it slips where the filter slips into the groove in the screen piece or do you think it leaks between the screen piece and the airbox?

I would switch in a 2nd if I thought there was a need.
