CALDS650,

You wouldn't happen to have a digital camera handy so that you could post some pics of that prior to and after you install it, would you? BTW- what colors are they producing the tank in, black?

I got my gas tank today the fit is very good. Just one problem the stock bolts for the fuel value are too small. There is plenty of clearance for the handlebars. I will have photo soon.

calds650, what size are you paddles? I'd like to find some 22" that will fit on the 9" stock rims. Man that is one nice ds, mine has a big gun, k&n, and alba upper a arms. i've got sand sharks for paddles but they don't hook up enough. I couldn't find the paddle brats like yours on skat traks site. any help would be great.

olddesertds,

I've been looking for tires that would meet those specs for a long time. I tried some Kenda Trakkers (DO NOT TRY THESE ON A DS!) they were horrible. They are actually 17" tall, at the casing. (Claimed size is 20x12x9.) I've been looking around for a while, and I ended up purchasing a very expensive tire/wheel combo that should prove to be quite a good performer. I really didn't want to spend the $440, but if it makes my day more fun and less time spent trying to pull the back end out of deep sand I'm all for it. If you find something that will fit the stock 9" rims let me know. I did see some Kenda straight paddles that were said to be 22x11x9, but if they are consistent then they'll be 19" tall, not even 20".

thanks guys, for the info. I have had bad luck with the 10" rims bending jumping in the dunes both on our 400ex and the ds. I dinged one of the stock red labels riding to fast in rocky terrain and ripped a big hole in the tire so I bought the 22"(rims and tires) and 23"(just tires) bandits that did so well in the baja, thought i could find some 22" paddles for the extra rims but i guess i might be sitting on the extra red labels for awhile. I've had a set of sandskate 2's for 6 years (20" on 8" rims) that i've jumped our previously owned R's and the EX and never bent them. About the only way i can keep my sand sharks on black labels from bending is to run high psi's and sacrafice climbing speed. thanks again for the info.
