I finally got my new SP 500 today. I ordered it 3 weeks ago, it was manufactured on 9/21, and it finally arrived today. I've been going nuts waiting, and of course wondering if I made the right decision.

I love it so far. It's the first time I've ridden an ATV, but I put about 8 miles on it going up and down the steep logging trail behind my house, and around the field in front.

I love the color (yellow) and the basic style. The headlight speedo pod is great, and I like the analog speedometer which looks great when it gets dark out.

It definitely rides very nicely up my fairly rough trail. I was a little worried about the EBS cause of things I've heard, but I liked it a lot. My hill is real steep, but I never needed the brakes at all.

I do have a little problem: it looks like the front gearcase is leaking a little oil where the shaft from the engine enters. I topped it up, and will keep an eye on it, but I suspect it will mean a trip back to the dealer. These seals don't heal themselves do they?

One final question: do most folks remove all those warning stickers. I can see keeping the small ones dealing with the reverse override, etc., but I don't really need the ones telling me not to drive drunk, or to inflate the tires, or be over 16.

My seventeen year old thought is was AWESOME, great color, better than the snowmobile cause you could drive it all year, and a "big boy's toy". First time he's said anything approving in about 3 years!

Can't wait till tomorrow. Hope it doesn't rain, not that rain will stop me!

Congrats! Hope you enjoy your new ride. The stickers are useless, and in my opinion, take away from the looks of a quad. Heat them up with a hair dryer and they will come off a lot easier.

Yes if it's leaking more than a drop Id have the dealer look at that seal. Some seals do 'heal themselves' but that's usually do to a debris obstruction or the like, ( blade of grass getting wound up in there, if you catch it in time and clean it up the seal may still work)-but it doesn't sound like you've had a chance to get grass wound up or squeeggee mud in that area.

No seals don't fix them selves, if oil can get out dirt can get in.
