Live in St Charles ,Mo area. Unable to locate Mobil Fluid 424 Anywhere. Even dealers don't have it. Any suggestion on what to use as a replacement. Called Kawasaki ,they sure don't have an answer.

Here's a link to Grainger for the Mobil 424 Lube. Your Dealer should be able to buy it from them if you can't purchase it directly.

Have your local dealer order it from Kawi. Part # atv0103. It will be in quick. $8 per quart. Don't use anything else.

Thanks alot everyone. Granger did have Mobil 424 in 2 1/2 gal jug for only 28.86 including tax. A lot cheaper than $ 8 a quart at dealers,if they ever get it in stock.

Any farm machinery dealer should be able to get it. Only downside is it comes in 5 gal. pails but its only $29.00 Carter machinery

I was wondering if the John Deer rearend gear fluid stuff would work also. At the Deer dealer he said it was identical to Mobil 424, it just had a john deer name on it. It said on the lable on the back that it was also made to be used with the wet-disc brakes found mostly on tractors. I think it was like 4 or 5 dollars and they carry it on the shelf, being a tractor dealer.

The specs on Mobilfluid 424 are compatable to John Deere J20 tolerances but as far a that I'm gonna try to use what the book calls for since it's still under warranty until 12/2004. also my friend is a Polaris dealer and told me that I should use Kaw oil in these machines because of the additives that regular motor oil doesn't have.

I wouldn't be using anything other than what Kawi recommends. If something goes wrong with my 650 rear end and dlr/Kawi finds oil that's not recommended there, then it would be my burden to prove that oil is suitable for this vehicle. At least while the vehicle is in warranty...
