Is it very easy to stall a Raptor?
#1
As you all know, I am new to riding, and obviously, I'm not a master of the clutch. Do you guys think that I will catch on quickly, or will it take a lot of practice to shift the Raptor correctly and keep it from stalling all the time? Thanks for your help!
PS. I'm going to the dealer on Wednesday, they have a black and white with my name on it!

Well, about a month ago was my wife's first time on a quad and it was my raptor. She now has ridden it about a half adozen times or so and she does very well. I don't think it is very hard, just practice a few times and you will get it quickly.

On the other hand, first is geared so high, that it is easy to stall when trying to putt very slowly in first. I do this about once a day when riding through slow, technical (usually rocky) stuff. The engine has so much compression, that when it stalls at walking or jogging speed, it stops instantly. If you are standing up, it's hard no to be thrown over the bars...
Good luck,

I watched a girl ride a raptor for the first time last night. She could get going most of the time, but she didnt want to go that fast, she would shift into 2nd and the engine would start to bog, then stall. I watched her stall 5 times or so. I got a chance to ride it last night to. I thought that the gearing between 1st and 2nd was way to far apart, if you are going slow, you better know how to feather the clutch a lot. thats my 2 cents L8r
