Ok, until today, I just dismissed the HO belt failures as flukes. I began the day at a whopping 201 miles on my machine. I did not check what it is at now, but would guess 220. The belt shredded (I assume) at 45 mph on a dirt road.

At this point, all I know is a chunk of cog was on the foot board.

I'm really quite satisfied with my machine, but it seems quite odd that Polaris started this "Leifetime belt warranty" and seem to be having a substantial number of failures.

For the record: My tires, and EPI kit were installed at the dealer from which I purchased. I do not baby my machine, but DO use low range religeously when the going gets tough.

This could really SUCK if it happened out alone! Thankfully the bro in law was along on my KQ.

As long as you use it properly as you say, I have to wonder if your clutches are aligned right? That is one of the major causes of belt troubles.

Aha. Could it be that the EPI kit is causing your belt failures by providing too much belt pressure and thereby increasing belt operating temperatures and ultimately failure?

Driven clutch spring is too stiff creating too much side pressure thus making the belt temperatue hotter. Put stock driven spring back in. This will take you 30 minutes to do. You will need snap ring pliers for this job.

Check out my last post on "lifetime belt warr. is bull"

I wont even ride now without an extra belt
I can change it on the trail as fast I can in the garage(30mins).Add another 15mins if its dark out

Hopefully the problem is solved because
I just got my heelclickers clutch kit.
I'm waiting to install it after I get a couple hundred miles on a belt

Diesel Pro --- (

What? your beloved Polaris is not up to snuff . . . my, my . . time to think about what I"ve been saying the last year or so . . . "Polaris, What have you done for me lately . . . NOT MUCH."

I know, it's tough, but some day you will get it. But then again, it's tough for some . . .

Tsk, tsk, tsk, another Polaris problem, where are the "loyals" when you need them?

I suggest you call your favorite Polaris dealer, he will hold your hand . . . ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

This is typical! Someone has a problem and others have to kick him when he is down. What brought this on? Why are people concerned with what someone else rides? Remember, you could very easily lose your ride or ability to ride through no fault of your own. Quit being an *** and offer suggestions not criticism! I would help you regardless of what you ride! Grow up and enjoy your fredom to ride!!!!

Tsk,tsk,tsk, back atcha Tader Jack!

When you are down and out with your Dmax, who ya gonna turn to???

BTW, my dealer swapped belts no questions asked.

I'm curious to see how the heel clickers work. I doubt they will help the belt life problem. Just maybe the wheelie/acceleration...
