I'm getting a 400EX today and I was woundering one the drive home I have to go through water that is about 1ft deep how will the 400 do in this?
An average day of trail riding will be going through water close to 1ft deep so should I be worried?

Not necassarily sneeze, i just put some chain lube on it about every other ride (and i do ride in water 2 feet deep) and it does fine. Two things to watch out for is i go through bearings pretty quick, keep them greased. And also, your brakes will be really squeeky for a while, and they will wear out somewhat fast. Have fun

we built a jump at the lake this summer and jupped the 400 into 10foot of water and all we did was drain the airbox and jump it again...even the oil stayed clean ....as far as the chain goes it is a o-ring chain it will only need a small amount of chain lube after the ride to keep it from rusting

Won't motor oil ruin the o-rings on the chain?

I sunk and I mean sunk my old 250X which is basically like the 400EX and stayed on the throttle and it never quit. I was all the way up to my chest and still the bike ran...
No worries, just make sure you dry out the bike really good before storing. One spot I have noticed on my new 400ex that likes to store gunk is in the battery compartment. So watch that.

Uuuuuuhhhh, thats stupid......(its people like this who ruin out sport)

And 1 question: How do you ride in 10ft of water!?!?!? I think you over exaggerated and little bit b/c there's no way you can ride in 10ft of water, not possible!

I am wondering how did you get it back up?

AND also why would you want to do that?

jeffman,
All I know is biggy could rebuild that Honda in his sleep if he wanted too. So if he wants to jump into 10foot of water then so be it. If something is wrong with it after wards rebuild the Honda. Biggy we need a PIC of that procedure. Chet
