Cool head..22 cc domes
Home ported cyl.
Boost bottle
Reeds...aftermarket of some kind
Reed spacers
KNN filter
bored 20 over with power piston

This bike had some FMF pipes of some kind on it, but they were smashed in a recent rear ending accident. The FMF pipes were pretty old, and there's not any labeling telling what they are. The owner(my buddy) want's the best all around pipe for the bike. He likes the sound of the pipes he had. He does mostly trail riding, but make several trips to the dunes a year. And of course there's plenty of drag racing. We're always drag racing each other, and any one we come across. I've allways heard Toomeys are the way to go. He's thinking about FMF SST pipes, but I told him I'd ask the Banshee guys on the ATV connection what they thought. He's unplugged from the world....no PC.

Thanks,
Dan

Do they stick out on the sides a bunch? Most pipes stick out too much as it is. Thanks for the advice. Anyone else have any suggestions? How about the FMF SSTs?

Later,

Dan

CPIs are sure the way to go for performance...as much as they are very fat. Check the pics at The Banshee Zone. If you want ergonomic pipes, go Paul Turner. You might want to wait for the T6s from Toomey. They're working on it and whnen their pipe comes out, they say it will beat anything out there...why not?
I don't like the sound of SSTs...but that's my very personal opinion, if he likes it, that's good. I've never been a fan of FMF, a too big company, not specialized enough...but that's just psychologic step for me...hehe

If he liked the FMF's before, he should go that route again. I have FMF's and personally think Toomey's and especially Paul Turners are way over rated, and over priced. I do know the CPI's are pretty nice, but didnt see many of them run where I used to live (Wyoming). He probably had the FMF Gold Series Fatties. I have a similar setup as your buddies, minus the home porting, and found the FMFs work real well with this combo.

What about the LRD adjustables....are they worth the money to have some flexability?

Thanks,
Dan
