High Compression Pistons - Is this a DIY project?
#1
I'm cosidering installing a 11:1 high compression piston in my 300ex, however what is involved with a project like this? Do the kits come with everything I need? Is this meant to be a do it yourself type mod, or would it be best to take it to the dealer? Basically if someone could give me detailed steps of what is involved that would be great.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Your best bet is to buy a haynes(not clymer) repair manual out of dennis kirk and use it. It explains everyting. It will pay for itself in no time.

first of all if u buy a manual get the oemHONDA manual the haynes is $hit i have one that covers the 300ex/400ex and i hate it i instaled a 10:1 piston in my 400ex and that was my first time tearing down my motor and i got it done it took me a while but i did it and it runs all u gotta do is follow instructions and torque right but u will need a head gasket a head cover gasket a base gasket and a cam chain tensioner gasket the cometic kit only comes with the head and base so should get the other ones from honda look up the gasket part numbers at a place like powersportspro.com or rivayamaha.com then order it fdrom servicehonda.com they have the best prices
