Hey guys~
My DS has had a knocking kind of sound when it is at idle or at a low RPM in any gear. It is kind of a clicking sound that sounds like it is coming from the transmission area. The machine has maybe 20 hours on it and is 2 months old(still under warranty). Any ideas as to what this could be? This is my first big 4 stroke, so I wouldn't even know if it is normal. I can easily ask the dealer about the problem, but I am sure many of you know a lot more about the DS than the dealer. Thanks.

 

It's probably just fine, put an aftermarket pipe on it and you won't hear it anymore.

 

I have found it to be a noise the automatic compression release makes when your motor is at low rpms. I had this same sound, and took it to my dealer. All that had to be done was just barely turn the idle up. Other DS owners have had this same sound, and the acr seems to be it.
