Are your aftermarket tires worth it?
#1
The next time you are putting on some new aftermarket tires on the front of your quad, try this if you have spare rims with the stock tires. I am repairing my quad after a rookie stuffed it in a rutt and bent a rim and the steering stem. I just put the new stem in (stocker, $56 from servicehonda.com) and I wanted to try the quad out, even though I don't have the new Douglas 190 rim yet, for my 23" Holeshot XCT tire. So I just bolted on the ol' stock tire and rim.
I took off across a field and the turns back and forth felt EXTREMELY different. The holeshot tire on the left front would stick grab and turn, the stocker, felt mushy and would just... for the lack of a better term, "waller" around and then turn. I had never done this before, but thought I'd share my experience. Morale of the story, The aftermarket tires are worth it!!
