I installed full DG skids on my 400Ex a month ago. I just changed the oil today and what a mess! When I took the drain plug out of the side case the oil went all over the top of the skid plate. What have you done to remedy this problem? Thanks for any info, Dave

Uh........ drill a hole in the skid plate where the drain plug goes.

I can't believe DG made the skid plate so that you have to remove it every time you change the oil!! I think I'm going to try drilling some holes in the bottom of it where the hole is. Hopefully most of the oil will drain out through the holes instead of all over the skid and then all over my driveway!!!!! Phaskell, thanks for the reply. Those other two obviously have no experience with a 400 Ex and full skids. I was hoping that someone with experience would have figured out a way and passed the info along.

Well I just had a thought, dril yourself a hole and put a small funnel in-between (sp) the skid with the tip sticking out of the hole and the top right underneath the drain plug so you won't get any oil on your skid. Hope that works, just trying to help.
