I'm about to get rid of my 20s in favor of some 18s. I will be using them mostly for play riding, some dragging and a little motocross (very little). I currently have 20x11X9 shredders but I feel they are too tall. So I'm looking for some 18s that have good grip on loose terrain while still having good puncture resistance and wear good. I know very few tires will fit this profile but I just want to know what experiences you guys out there have had. This is for a 250r.

Also does anyone use 18X11X10 tires/wheels. I like the way the low profile looks but worry about denting the wheels. Again it is mostly for play riding.

Currently I've been looking at the Holeshot MX and Razz and the Fast trekkers.

Trx250Rob, don't get Holeshot MX's if you can't change your own tires. You're LUCKY if you can get 10 races out of them. Pro racers change their MX's every 7 races.

Another thing. I'm not so sure if MX is a deciding factor for you, but 18x8's are the hot setup. The 11" tires decrease sliding ability, therefore making your corner time slower.

If I were you, I would go with Razr's, or Fast Trekkers. The Holeshot MX's are too expensive to be replacing every 7 races.. Or at least around here they are.

Turf Tamers are a really good tire. If you get them grooved, they will hook up excellent, and they don't wear out all that fast.

Lonsestar what do you mean by "The 11" tires decrease sliding ability"?

The 11" tires don't slide as good as the 8's. Simple as that. THey have more tread on the ground, and don't get much more traction. I personally prefer 8's.

the 8 inch tires are narrower and will cause more rollover though. i have no problem sliding with 11" tires on the back of my R.

Fast453ex, I like the fasttrekkers, how to they hold up to wear (street riding) and punctures. Also do you have ay problems with bending rims on the 10 inch wheeels? I argee the low profile look sweet.

I run 18x10x8 Maxxis Razors on the rear and love them. I did run Holeshot MX rears. I also run Razors up front. Now...that's my 2 cents worth. Later!

They are very tough tires, i ride a lot of rough rocky trails and they are trouble free, the rims don't get bent either because even tho the sidewall is short it is stiff and wont roll over, i love how they handle on roads too, on blacktop corners they are the only tires that i can slide around the corners with(POWERSLIDE ON BLACKTOP!SWEET!) THey wear well and only cost 41 dollars from Rocky Mountain ATV, I use them for drag racing and trail riding, i love em, buy urself a set!
