Which frame for a 250r?

I just baught a 250r motor off Ebay, and I have been trying to decide who's frame I should buy.
What do you recomend and why?
I've heard of Arens, Roll Design, Leager, LSR, Houser, Walsh racecraft, and Porter Racing Products.
Which one is the most 'back for your buck'?
One last question what dimesions should I get on the A-arms and swingarm?
(I want something I can use in any situation, racing or trail riding.)

I agree with 250rampage2, a lot of it depends what your budget is. A friend of mine has a 2000 Lonestar frame and all of his riding is done in the dunes. He is a very good and experienced rider. He is not happy with his purchase, as his frame and motor mounts have already cracked. I could understand if he raced but it's just sand riding. He paid $2400 for the frame and on top of that he said the powdercoating was terrible. I've heard a lot of good things about Arens frames durability and quality along with the price. The others have established their reputations a while ago. After seeing what happened to his frame I wouldn't even consider a Lonestar. If I was going to purchase a frame I would probably go with the Arens. Just my two cents.

dirt wheels did a test on two built mx quads , their only differences were one had a LSR frame and the other was an arens. the arens was flawless but the lsr cracked around the peg mounts. im not sure about the other frames but judging how big dana creech launches his laeger pro-trax im pretty impressed by it. walsh is good stuff , but i hear they have a long waiting list because all their frames are built by one person. k and k atv ( kandkatv.com ) sells arens and LSR frames , i buy a lot of stuff from them and they are pretty good people. as for a arms , i would get +2" on each side because any more it would be more than 50 inches wide which is illegal to race , well thats at least how it is on 400ex's. i would get the swingarm the same length as the 89' model. it is 1.25 inches longer than a stock 400ex and alot of 400ex owners are upgrading to that length. if i was to build a quad from the ground up and i had the money , it would be a roll/axis quad with a powervalved 250 but i dont have that cash. i like the lobo front and rear ends , they just want an arm and a leg for them. well i hope this helps you , peace

I agree with these guys. Lonestar's products aren't all that great. They make good A-Arms, but the frames stink. I think if I were buying, I would have an Arens Bros frame, Roll Design front end, and an Arens stock swingarm, with a +4 LSR axle. I have yet to find an axle stronger than the Axcalibur. I have heard of some racers running +3 A-Arms, but their wheel offset was weird. I recommend +2+1's.

April Issue of Dirt Wheels has a Full article on this kinda stuff, if you can't get ahold of that issue, I'll try and scan it for you and see if it comes out "readable." A Roll Design Lobo chassis is $8495, which includes frame,swingarm,steering stem,A-Arms, and Custom Axis shocks. If I had the $$ I would go with that or a Leagers Pro-Traxx.

I would prefer not to spend over 2500 for the frame and sub-frame. For the rest I'm not sure, the Arens frame with Roll Design front sounds like a good idea, but I still have not decided.
