I have a new Suzuki LT400 on order and the first mods I want to install are a-arms and shocks. I have owned several race quads with +2 arms but never with the long travel set up. My questions are:

1) How much additional travel is gained with this set up than the +2's?

2) How is the additional travel acheived? ( ball joints, shock location, etc).

3)If anyone has experience with this set up, how would you rate the performance difference?

Thanks for your input.

roll, pro-trax, and houser, maybe some more, make long travel a-arms. all it is is the shock mount on the laeger and houser is below the bottom a-arm instead of on top like a normal a-arm, the roll has a bend at the bottom shock mount, all this is to accomodate 19" shocks. the longer travel shock provides more travel of course and better action than a short one, there is more room in the body for things to work.

Also, the ball joints used are different. The stock type used on standard +2 ARMS will not allow much more than 10 inches of travel. The amount of travel you will achieve will depend on your set-up, and you will be breaking new ground with this new machine. Probably the longest travel will be the Roll Lobo setup or the Laegar T-pin front end, but both are extremely expensive. I have an honest 12 inches of travel with my Houser long travel arms and Elka shocks, the price is very reasonable.

Hey guy's thanks for your comments. I did hear that the ball joints are different than regular +2's. Ridzhard, I have a set of Elkas as well and have no complaints. I would like to know what you think of the Houser a-arms as far as fit, finish, and quality. How much did you pay for your set up? I'm guessing somewhere around $1500.
