If I remember correctly, you have a Grizzly 660 right? Either way, the plug you mention will not cause any problems on your machine. Most of all the manufacturers went to resistor plugs a few years ago when the digital type CDIs become more abundant on their models, but you will experience no problems by not running a resistor plug unless you have a CB radio or other communications device that is actually wired into the bikes electricals. Sometimes but not always, the bike itself will cause turbulence in the radio signal.

One other note I should mention. I am not sure how, but SOME GPS systems although they weren't wired into the machine, will have interfearance due to the NON resistor plug.

The Raptor660 among nearly all other brands and models run resistor plugs stock. But if you were to go and pull boots off alot of these bikes, you will find that most skimp on the extra 50 cents and go the regular route.

Global Positioning Satelite system. Electronic devise that tracks your location by signals from satelites orbitting the earth.

I don't blame you for not knowing what they are. As popular items as they are, I just don't ride in unfamiliar territory to warrant the use of one. If I'm somewhere I've never been, I usually just tag along with someone that has.

You can get hand held GPS units for around $100. I bought mine (Garmin E-Trex) because I ride areas that I don't know well. I just pull it out of my pocket and I know how far and what direction I need to go to get back to points that I programmed in like parking lots and trailheads.

I live in Las vegas, My riding areas consist of mostly desert or Open range.
The GPS unit comes in handy. Saved me from getting lost Many times.

I'm also using it to map trails and desert roads around vegas. Marking spots of interest on the way.

Eventually i'll have a site created posting these maps for other riders to use, as a printable guide.

Depending on the model, It gives a trackback system, avg. speed, top speed, current speed, distance traveled, Elevation, long/lat. I use a Garmin 12map.

It always comes with me.

I now use the non resistor plug for my raptor. I havn't seen any difference yet.
