If you have an 02 Grizzly and a Warn A2500 winch I need your help.

I am new to this forum and you guys really seem helpful. Ok here is my dilemna. I have a 02 Grizzly and I am installing an A2500 winch. I read some earlier posts and there seems to be quite some controversy regarding the solenoid. I have the winch mounted and I mounted the solenoid under the rear left fender (as you sit on the bike) and bolted it through the storage box. It fit real nicely there and I didnt have to massacre the storage box to do it. Here are my questions: 1) does anyone think mounting the solenoid outside of the storage box will be a problem? It looks as weatherproof as anything I have on the bike now but I have no experience with these solenoids. 2) Where have you guys mounted the receptacles for the remote switch? I don't want to drill into the fenders if I dont have to. I would like to hear what you all have come up with for a suitable mounting location. Many thanks in advance.

I am new to the forum and just read your request hope this isn't to
late. I put my solenoid under the the black plastic below the front
rack there was a spot on the side wall were it fit nicely. The plug-
in is mounted in the left front headlight bezel so when its unplugged
you don't even see it. Still want to mount a rocker switch on
handlebar to run the winch from the drives seat. I had a Kodiak b4
this W/ an A2000 winch and had the soleniod mounted under the left
rear fender and it worked fine.

Thanks for the reply I will check the bezel and see if it looks suitable for me. Which wire did you use for the red wire from the switch? I dont have a test light and I want to make sure I get a suitable wire. I also read somewhere else that a warn handlebar switch (plow actuator switch) could be used as well. I think that switch looks more convienient but does anyone know how to hook them both up? Don't even know if its technically possible to have both. The remote switch looks real bulky and I cant imagine its too conveinient when plowing although I have never tried it before.

I have 2 660's with winches mounted on both. Put your solenoid under the left rear fender mounted to the outside of the storage box, put some silicone around the bolts to prevent water from entering. The receptacale you can feed it through the hole under the handle bars and tie it to the frame which leaves you at least 10' of cord. good luck

I spliced into the aux. plug wire. If I remember right it was a white
wire with a tracer. I ahve already spliced in the wires for the
rocker switch just need to get a switch and housing to mount it in.
I will probably build my own housing and mount it on top of the
throttle assembly. Since the other side is reserved for a horn
button and a reverse override button.

Where would I put my air compressor,****** block, tow strap, tire
plug kit, and remote winch wire, plus I know there is something
else that I'm forgeting. So you can see the trunk is pretty full
without a solenoid being in there also.

I mounted the solenoid right on the battery hold down bracket. It just barely clears the seat. I mounted the big gray switch right in the middle of the warning label on the front left fender.

You won't have any problem with the solenoid being mounted out side like you have it had mine mounted like that for 3 years on my 99 griz when I took it off and put it on my new 02 i placed it in the storage compartment towards the rearwall or I should say on the rear wall. As far as the remote goes I connected the two connetors together and wrapped them in tape and places them under the front hood then placed the remote holder on the left handle bar I never unplug mine so this was a way not to have to make any holes in the plastic. hope this helps also by your name do you own a hemi? I had one back in 1980 in a challenger what I wouldn't give to have that car today
