Yamaha Kodiak 4x4...other
#1
I am thinking to buy an atv when I move back to the states from switzerland. I like the Kodiak auto 4x4 and think the price is ok. I don't think I need a 650 or 660. I was once told that Polaris needs repairs more often than yamaha (by a dealer of both).
However, what can anyone say about AC, Bombardier, Kaw., or Honda? It seems like all companies are making very good atvs now.

I just bought my wife an '02 Kodiak auto 4X4. It comes in on Tuesday. I'll keep you posted on how it performs. I don't know anything about Bombardier or Honda's. I've only heard good things about the Kawi 650, but have not heard much on their smaller quads, Polaris builds nice machines, however everyone I've seen does seem to have an unusual high number of problems. The Arctic Cats are incredible machines, and very dependable, and sense Suzuki builds the main components on the Cats, I would assume their machines are good as well.
It's a hard question, what I would suggest is to go and test ride the quads you're interested in and that fit the style of riding you plan on doing. Hope this helps.

I have a Sportsman 500 and like it very much. The independant suspension is the ONLY way to go! It is an incredible machine!
The new Artic Cat 500i is also a very nice machine (12 inches of ground clearance!)
Also look at the Griz 660.
The Kodiac does NOT have a locker front end like the Giz and the Sportsman. It DOES make a difference!
