the wife and i just decided to get her a trail blazer. the dealer had 2 2001 modles left and sold us one for 2900. so im looking for some things to give it a littel more power. i was thinking about a pipe, k@n fliter, and re jet.the only thing is we rode one that some one else had done this to and they did a clutch kit as well and my wife didn't like that u had to use the override button to get it to go in reverse. i want to know if u have to use a clutch kit or can i get one that will still engage at about stock rpms.

thanks in advance

The pipe,K&N filter and re-jet will give you better performance without the clutch kit. Although, to see the full benefit of these mods, you would have to "play" with the clutches. You could do a little bit of work to these clutches that would give you a little better performance without installing a whole clutch kit. I personaly have done slight clutch mods for people like you for the "wife's" machine. I would think that your dealers service department would be able to help you out here. I know I could.

I wouldn't worry about the reverse over ride, it's easily over ridden.

As far as the clutch kit goes, RCR only has you replace the primary spring. Frankly, if you're not going to put on anything other than the pipe, K&N and jets, you could get away with just adding the spring and nothing else. Once you start getting it ported, having the head milled and running a bigger carb, then you might want to consider a full clutch kit with roller secondary.
