i just got the new dirt wheels and i was wondering why they didnt add a banshee in the ds650,250r,and 600 shoot out on the mx track , everyone is claiming that the ds650 is better than any bike out there and it was odd to see that they didnt stick a race banshee in there 2. im not just saying that because i own one but it is just wierd thats all but they never did say what place the 650 came in just the lap times. i wonder why they didnt put it ina shoot out with a bike like tim farrs 426 yamaha or some other big bike or with a quadzilla i just think it is a little funny thats all and it seems like dirt wheels and atv television like to advertise hondas more than any other quad

They didn't compare it against the 426 cuz the 436 is not a standard or benchmark for race ATV's. They compared it to the other 600 cuz that may be it competitor in the near future. Did you read the shootout with the Banshee vs the DS? I think the 400EX was in their too.

yea i seen that shoot out i just figured they would stick a banshee in there too because all that u really see is the banshee and the 250r competeing against each other and the 400ex which i think the 250r and the 400 ex are both great bikes even though i own a banshee

the suprising thing is how good the 650 did in the shootout against a pro's 250r.consider it's weight vs the r and the 600.the 65o came in 3rd and it "was the only stock quad out there "(says dirtwheels) that's pretty good if u ask me!

Why did they not run a 400ex or a Banshee against the 650? Easy, they would not have stood a chance on the track against the DS( Not to mention, it would have been nearly impossible for DW to claim the Honda 400 ex was the better on the track, even if it would have gotten whooped with a straightface). And a Quadzilla vs. a DS on a track, that is laughable. The Zilla is strictly a woods/dune machine. As was pointed out. The DS did very well against a FULL RACE 250 that cost in excess of $10,000 to build. I sure hope a racer is building a DS for racing, that would be interesting to see what happens the next 2 years..

i agree,in the january issue of 4-wheel atv action there was a high performance shoot-out with the ds650, banshee, 250r and 400ex.the 400ex won but i still think the 250r is the best.

I went into the local dealer yesterday. They have a DS650 and a 400EX sitting side by side. I didn't believe how huge everybody was saying the DS is... Until I saw it in person. I casually walked over and tried to pick the front end of the quad up. Yep, it weighs a lot.
Some other guy was in there and asked the salesman the top speed. According to the salesman, it tops out at 80mph! I am very impressed!

I would imagine that the Quadzilla would kill the DS in the dunes, where the DS is made for. I don't imagine that the Quadzilla was made for tight wooded type trails. However, I think the Quadzilla would give the DS a run for it's money, if not beat it. The DS has been touted as having the greatest factory production suspension yet, and it's true. But it's also true that it is the heaviest one out there, and ranks with the four bys. I'm not saying I hate the DS, cause I think it's awesome what a company like Bombadier has done, but I'm still not convinced it's the ultimate duner out there. Hopefully the other manufacturers will put out competition soon. Keep in mind the banshee was only 2-tenths of a second behind the DS in the drag on pavement. 2-tenths! That's hardly anything; on the same note, the 250r was only 4-tenths of a secont slower, now that's impressive. And they wonder why the 250r is still the best out there?
