pulling baffle out of stock raptor muffler
#1
how the heck do I do this? I've tried and tried but it wont pull out i took teh bottom bolt out and the one at the end of the muffer, and pulled and pulled and pulled with pliers, vice grips, you name it, but I need to know soon, as soon as i get a reply I'll do it, oh yeah, if i take my airbox lid off and gut the muffler, will i need to change jets yet or will it be okay for a while?

I had to use a pair of Vice-grips and a hammer to get mine out. If you pull off the airbox lid, you will definately have to rejet. Back when I was using that set-up(no spark arrestor or airbox lid) I was using a 160/165 main.

I think if I remember right I took a sledge hammer to the baffle and it flew out and hit my KDX200, it fell over, bent my handlebars and then after the shock to the Raptor my carbs popped off and then it got stuck in second gear. Just kidding.
It was a hard as heck getting mine out but I took a screwdriver and a hammer and kinda chiseled around the edges and it finally wiggled out. The baffle was kinda bent up but I got back into a custom egg shape look if I need to install it back in.

I didn't notice much of a difference in power by removing the arrestor, but losing the airbox lid and rejetting was a night and day difference. Make sure you secure (read screw to airbox) the filter as the lid holds it in place.

yeah, I havent looked really close at the filter and airbox, but I was thinking, maybe I could drill a hole in the upper lip that comes off the air filter and the airbox, and put a screw in it real tight and maybe it would seal, maybe one on each top corner.

ordered a pro design intake off ebay, should come in soon, and I got the baffle out now. Now I am ready for jets, and the average elevation in KY is 750ft., can someone reccomend me jets, without buying a jetkit as of yet? Is there anything i need to know about the carbs when I change the jets?
