I noticed yesterday that when I engage my 4x4 and then accelerate and build up speed in 2nd and 3rd gear the there is a clattering noise coming from the front end. Do any other Bear owners have this or any ideas on the subject? It sure sounds a lot louder than it should be. Thanks Ken

I try not to go faster in 4 wheel drive. I just switch it into 4x4 when i go in mud. But i have forgot to take it out of 4 wheel drive and i had no sound coming from the front end.

hey honda4ever, I noticed you have 27's on your bear, what difference did this make in low end torque and top end speed, also what did you make your snorkel out of?

hey bigbearrider the low end isn't so bad as i thought it would be. I thought it would be a little sluggish but its not. I noticed a little difference in 4wd when i start going it grabs a lot more. But if i put it in 2nd gear in 4wd its a bit sluggish. Cause 1st gear you don't really have the momentum. But i go slow anyways but if i start to have trouble in the mud i rock it and them tires just pull right out. Top end i see no difference the speed is the same according to the speedo on the bike. Which is 45 and it doesn't take a while to get there it has no problem getting there. I live on dirt roads and i have gotten stopped a couple times to slow down cause the tires just tear the roads up. I find it funny. My sorkel i made it out of the blue spa hose. I tried it coming right out of the airbox were the stock snorkel started from. But i had problems driving slow in mud with it sputtering. So i took the stock snorkel and rotated it to the left towards the shifter side of the bike and put a 90 degree in the mouth of the stock snorkel and put the blue spa hose on the other end and clamped it down. Then ran it to the front rack and all the vent hoses all run up next to it.
