front and back on a 4x4?, but they come stock that way whats up with that?. i live in montana and ride in the snow and dirt but not alot of mud, what would be the best tire for me?. thanks....

The 26s will fit fine on your stock rims. Plenty of clearance without a lift kit too. Your question about tire sizes on the front and rear being the same only pertains to the diameter of the tire. The width of the tire can differ without affecting the overall circumference. For the type riding you describe there are many options of treads that will work for you. I personally had the BearClaws on my last quad and they provide a good mix for different types of terrain. They are a good durable tire and usually reasonably priced.
