Ok to start out let make sure this is clear, I am NOT putting down Cannondales (I own a F2000 Mountain bike of theirs and LOVE it). Anyway does anyone else have any fears with buying the Cannondale ATV after all the problems with the motorcycle? Also do you think we will be able to get parts for it 2,5,10, years down the road. I really like the quad but tend to keep things for a while and am concerned with motor problems and the lack of parts. I know I can get Yamaha, Honda, etc... parts easily so I am tending to lean toward a 400ex or Raptor for that reason alone. How does everyone else feel?

Nac's, K&K, RS Performance, and HMF engineering are all coming out with parts. The bike does kinda suck but the quads don't have the same problems. The bike weighs about 250 lbs which compared to the YYZF and the CR 450, that is really heavy. This engine works a lot better in a quad. The FX400 wasn't that good but the 4 new quads are selling like hot cakes and that means more and more aftermarket companies will start makin parts. Already AC is makin parts and I'm pretty sure Leager is gonna make a-arms, axle and swingarms, PEP and Custom Axis make shocks for them (Works will more than likely follow) and HMF makes pipes for the dale. If you don't feel certain about it just give it a few months and there will be LOTS of after marketparts available.

Reasonable questions Code. I tend to keep things myself. Buying a Cannon Quad is clearly riskier than a yamaha. But hey, if we were the risk averse sort, we wouldn't be ATV'ing. All signs are Cannondale is here to stay. They have shown their comittment to the sport more than any other manufacturer.
My Cannibal has about 40 hours and has'nt given me problems except the ones I caused.....Crash......
It hasn't required anymore maintenance than my yamaha's and god is it FAST and COOL!
Both my Yamaha's have design flaws that should have been corrected Sometime in their long product run, but still arent! Cannondale fixed their Quad problems the first time, and paid for most of it too. Who's more comitted to their customer? Won't be the right choice for everyone, but works for me.

Roll your dice, take your chances.

Let me just say that I currently own 3 quads, the cannibal (previously an fx400), a raptor and an '86 250R. I am getting ready to advertise the Raptor and get rid of it. There just is no comparison to how the cannibal handles and performs compared to the raptor. The raptor is way too heavy and it handles like crap. I had some problems with my fx400 but cannondale has been absolutely great to work with. They took back the fx400 and gave me a cannibal with all the Speed features at no additional cost. Try getting that type of support from one of the "big boys". I've been very impressed with how fast they are addressing and resolving the problems that do arise on the quads. I too believe they are here to stay and they are proving it by great customer support.

I would buy another Cdale, infact I'd like to buy one of their new generation motorcycles, the older ones had a few problems. Their commitment to the motosports community is un-paraelled, and their history with bikes speaks for itself.

YoDaddy, too say the FX400 "wasn't that good" is misleading, sure they had some troubles but Cdale backed it up in further development and improved it with the newer models. Cdale also fixed
the problems with the FX and imho it is a very good quad.

briansgi, your Canibal has adjustable on-the-fly EFI? Thought that only the Speed, Blast and Moto had that, nice addition. RS Performance has it available now for FX's and Canibal's for $495.00.
