Alright, my 250R engine rebuild is almost complete and i need some rear tires. I was gonna get razr's but i've heard they wear down quickly. And holeshots i've heard were good also. I ride mostly dirt and grass, and want them to last awhile. The guy fixing it said i should get Dunlop 501's which is the stock 400ex tire he said. What do yall think?

I wouldnt get the stock 400ex tire if I were you. I have them on my 250r right now and all it does is burn out. I just got some maxxis razr's and heard that they dont wear as fast as holeshots. I had holeshots on my blaster and they are both great tires. I think you would be happy with either one. Dont use them on pavement or asfault though, thats when they really wear fast.

If your looking for a long winded tire that still gets good traction I would think about the shredders. They are almost the same pattern as holeshots or razrs but last twice as long, and they do come in the shorter tires also 18-8-9.5 if thats what you want.

I've got the Holeshot XC's and I love them. I ride grass, trails and sand pits. They hook up well and After one season of steady use they are still in pretty good shape. If you want a long lasting tire with decent grip, get pure sports bandits, other than that stick with the Holeshots or get the Shredders like suggested above.

The Razrs are made of a lot softer compound than the Holeshots, therefore, they wear a bit faster. I've used both, and in my experiences, I found that the Razr fronts grab a little quicker than the Holeshots in corners. They are both nice tires. I had four buddies that had a little trouble getting the Holeshot fronts to hold air. Supposedly, they are so stiff, that the bead has a tough time sitting correctly.

first off,, doesn't oshtu or something like that make honda tires?? anyway,, i had Titan Fast Trekkers on my 300ex, the 20's, they are a different pattern than the 22's, the 18's and 20's have a really long middle section. i LOVED them, i will probably run them on my next 4-stroke quad, unless i get grooved Turf Tamers, but they wear EXTREMELY fast, but aside from that, i think they are the best you can have. if i were you, i would probably go with either Holeshots or Turf Tamers, unless you like the sound of the Fast Trekkers (oh, and the Fast Trekkers are only 40 bucks a rear tire.not 60 and 70 like holeshots)

Thanks yall.....i think i'm gonna go with holeshot rears....but i'm not sure about the fronts, cause i dont' have to always have to put air in them. What is a good front tire? Also, would the XC have too much weight and slow down a piped 250R?

ME400EX, I see you mentioned Bandits. I too am in the market for new tires and kinda torn between Bandits, Razr's, and All Tracs. I'm really interested in the Bandits since I ride in mud, hardpack, and sand. I hear they don't powerslide though. I was wondering if you or anyone else has had any experience with them or any suggestions you may have. I'm not too sure about the All Tracs, they don't seem much diff. than my stock Goodyears and they SUCK! I hear good things about them though. I have also heard that Holeshots are not good in mud at all. That is the only reason I have sort of ruled them out. I hear the Razr's do a lot better in mud since the lugs are deeper. I don't know though. Thanks for recommendations or info anyone may have!
