I finally got my swingarm bolt out and it looks like the hole in the frame that it goes through is slightly ovaled (rounded) out. You can move the swingarm bolt back and forth a small amount - like maybe 1/32 of an inch or less.

Has anyone heard of this happening before? Any ideas on the best way to get it fixed or if it is even going to be a problem?

Thanks

Wow! Thanks for all the help!

I see that this forum's group of experts are more suited to answering the really technical questions like: "does my Blaster have a cam?" and "is a yellow 400ex faster than a red one?"

I should have known.

My friends was the same way. The hole just wears out over time. The easiest thing to do is find 2 thick washers that are the same size as the swingarm bolt. Get them welded onto the frame and your prob is fixed.

oh yeah, make sure you just use one on each side, and be sure to weld them on the outside of the frame, one washer on the left, and one on the right. Otherwise, the bolt won't be long enough. good luck

Thanks for the advice 54warrior.

I actually just dropped it off at the local chassis builder. He is making two hardened tool-steel inserts to go into the frame. It is about the same idea as yours just a little more in-depth. He is going to use his laser alignment equipment to make sure they go in straight. He is also gussetting and powdercoating it while it is there so I am glad I found this place.

I figured more people had experienced this problem with their 15 year old frames.

Hey! I was gone duning for a week and didn't get a chance to even see a computer!!
Yeah, a chassis builder/welder can usually fix it right up for you.

Don't blame you at all, Dill. I was being a smartass too but I wasn't upset - I was just trying to get the ball rolling.

Seems like it worked.
