Here's the deal - I love sand, I love climbing hills, and I like just play riding, but I really like hill climbs. My 400EX works pretty good and I have no complaints with it, BUT, I've been told that the Banshee is the king of the hill. I want a quad that I can buy and slightly modify if need be and have it jerk me right off the seat when I push the throttle. When I punch it I want it to pull my arms right out of there sockets. Now, ofcourse I'm exagerating a bit, but IS the Banshee the king of the hill? I don't want a 3 year old arguement about which wheeler is better, just you're honest opinions.

Thanks

You want arm-ripping power? Get a 2 stroke. A Quadzilla 500 or a Banshee should do. I've had both. Get the Banshee, and some basic mods. That should do the trick.

On my last trip to Little Sahara (Oklahoma) a buddy of mine let me ride is Banshee. It has Fatty's, filter and a cool head. Getting off of my 400EX and getting on that was night and day difference. Instead of staying at the same speed up "Buttercup" it actually accelerates! If I was to buy a machine for what you describe the Banshee is your ticket. Who said the Banshee isn't the best "handler". Well, ok, maybe it isn't but I thought the stock setup (suspension) is excellent for dune riding!

A Quadzilla should be your ticket to the top first.

A well ported, carbed, piped Banshee will yank the cartilage out of fingers and shoulders. But on the 4 stroke side of things a EX will hold it's own against other 4 strokes. All you have to do is a 435 IMS 12.5:1JE, RCR ported, 463/9i WebCam, 34mm. Black Diamond intake valves, 30mm. Black Diamond exhaust valves, Carillo rod, crank bearing and others as needed, shortened valve guides, Kibblewhite high performance valve springs with titanium retainers, hardened rockers, XR250 cdi, FCR 41 alcohol carb , stud job, stock clutch disks/plates with CR500 springs, lightened flywheel, DMC full exhaust, +2 250R swingarm and a big o'l wheelie bar. Every time I read this it makes me laugh. I always was a sucker for the underdog.

instead of spending another $6000 on mods just buy a banshee and a set of pipes rejet it and filter and you have your arm remover. the 400ex will never keep up with a banshee any way.

I can relate to what your saying me400ex. I went through the same thing. I decided on the quadzilla instead of a banshee because there are very few zillas around anymore and around here there are more banshees than anything. The quadzilla may not handle the best or be a great motocrosser but it will deliver the power your describing. You cant go wrong with the banshee or zilla though. I dont know much about the big bore raptors or ds's though because ive never seen one but from reading about hem on here they would probably be just as good of a choice. I am going to little sahara in oklahoma in april and hope to see a few just to find out where i stand with them though

The Zilla or banshee are your only choice. A big bore quad like A raptor or ds costs big bucks to modify. Get a banshee, do some pipes, shave the head and some other external engine mods and your set...
