Banshee Sputter
#1
A friend of mine has a 1999 Banshee with Pro Circut pipes, FMF ram valves, and K&N filter. The problem is that one day we were riding and the power band was real sputtery and making sounds poping he says it's coming from the left cylinder. We cleaned the carbs both of them, for good measure. It seemed to help, the rest of the day it ran smooth and didn't sputter, the next day however it was the same thing. He took it to the dealer and they said it was running out of gas, and he flushed the tank and cleaned the carbs(the dumest thing I ever heard) well anyway, I guess the dealer didn't know what it was. We are still left with this problem and he is getting spanked by stock banshees!! Any idieas on what it could be??

Motion Pro makes a TORS elimination kit. It requires that you drill a hole in each carb so that idle adjustment screws can be installed. If you feel confident with that kind of modification it is well worth it. With the TORS eliminated you can get the carbs on and off without removing your exhaust, fuel tank etc. Big plus.

see what doesn't make sence to me is that one day he was burnin' down the trails and just all the sudden??!! He didn't change anything, does the TORS just all the sudden cause a problem? I'm not all that familure with it, I know it has somthing to do with preventing stuck a throttle.

At one point I believe my TORS was jacked up. Its acted like it was running out of gas, but it was running so bad, I qould not have eventried to race anybody like you frienddid. I dont know if thats the problem, but I got the TORS removal kit from Motion Pro, no problems since. It really does make working on the banshee must easier...
