98lakota, I have a couple questions
#1
I've been doing some intermediate mxing on my lakota. I still have stock tires and mud flaps on still.
My question is i'm getting ready to go to some larger tracks with my son, how does your lakota do.
I know you have some engine mods and all, but give me a good review on how it does.
I know the 400EX's and raptors have alot more horse power and all, but how have you been doing against the warriors and 300ex's.
So far on these smaller tracks I've been holding my own, but the next level comes this week.
And yes I am going to remove the flaps and as much wieght as I can before I go this week!!

Gaff, I don't MX. Most of my riding is XC racing and trail riding. I haven't raced since the engine mods and new shocks, but before the 300's and Warriors were even with me and I could actually pull away from the 400's in the tight stuff. In the open sections, the 400's would begin to pull away, but the 300's and Warrior's couldn't (and that was with a wore out motor.) In cross country racing top speed really doesn't matter. It's all in the handling and low-end torque. I still need a steering stabilizer if anyone has any ideas.
Our next race is Jan 20 in Maplesville Alabama. I can't wait to try out the new mods.

Cross contry is deffinately my passion, I road alot with bikes mostly hare scrambles.
I've been messing around with some stabalizers off my drag bike and have a real good idea what it will take, I seen one with a clamp on each side and waiting on some return data on it.
What I see it may fit on the tie rod and a-arm inside or out of the skid plate, It also could go to the frame but I,m concerned about trashing it.
I will keep you posted though.
Thiers a gncc in your state this spring I am making it a point to make it and meet you. I planned on making the first 4 out of 5, missing the flarida one, but the wifes already starting to make noise.
As far as the 300 and 350's I've been up against so far, I can't see thier abvantage over me, but were I'm going thier will be more 400 and cannondales, just seeing what you had seen in your experiences.
I hope stebob can make it one time to a gncc, it would be a blast.
Bigbad should be able to make the tennesse race, wouldn't that be cool.
And it would just be graet fun, nobody has to win, just get dirty.
My son wants to meet you all this year also he reads all are post at night before he goes to bed, he has the fever.
Wait untill I get home and get the new fmf on his bike, he'll be ready to go

I have been to the Ironman here in Crawfordsville, IN. Freakin a it was awesome. I didn't race, but got to watch Yokely, Farr and all the big boys. There was an area where the racers exited the woods into a big field with some jumps in it. Believe it or not you have to cross the track to get to the woods to watch there. Anyway, Yokely was way in front and came blasting out of the woods, there was some dumbass sitting there on a old Suz 230 looking the other way. We could hear Yokely screaming at this guy to move, he had to slam on his brakes and slow way down b4 the guy even seen him then moved. Yokely lost a lot of time due to this. He still won but it was very exiting. I thought about entering, but I have seen some of the hills they must go up, in one of the amature races they had to rope off a large circle and bring Lifeline heli in to get the guy to a hospital. Every since I took a real nasty spill trying a monster hill, I have been very hill shy. I will go up most of the stuff we come across, but some of it I won't even think about. Call me a chicken, but.....

The GNCC races are great. I haven't raced one yet, but I plan to race the one at Loretta Lynn's (Hurricane Mills) in April. Hope to see you guys there.
Brad Page (GNCC #3 Pro) races with us regularly and Bill Ballance (#1) and William Yokley (#4) race some of the winter series races. You guys should check out the Mid-South Winter Seriessite.
Gaff, the Alabama race might not be too far for you. It is just south of Birmingham.

I hier ya stebob, even though on a bike thier is not a hill I won't climb I've never atempted any thing big with the lakota.
I understand from talking with poeple that the iron man is one tough coarse, I also understand that the tracks get tougher as the season goes on, I may be a chicken as well but I'll let you know what I think after the macon race.
I just love the cross country racing, and maybe getting the pants scared out of me will tarnish that or even worse make me like it better.
It's so flat down hier, they have steep hill climbs but nothing as high as up thier.
We will see.
On the gncc web site they have videos you can get for each track I have one coming for macon and probably have one for all the tracks I can make it to. When I get them I'll make a copy and send it your way.
Think you could get a three day weekend from that tyrent of a boss you have to go to tenessee

hey guys, you ever hierd any crap like this,
I ordered friction disc, plates and heavier springs for my sons bike, $52.85 cool.
Well my wife just called me and said they charged me $77.00 to my credit card, so I called them. The guy tells me it's 18.98 for shipping and $4.95 for cod charges, what cod charges, what the heck is this high shipping cost for, were talking less than 5lbs.
I call the guy back and say hay you don't even do cod's, how come you charge for them, he tells me they haven't changed the cost code on the ticket yet, it's realy for handling, so I say then why do you charge 18.98 for shipping and handling, then he gets irate tells me to send it back and he will refund me the money less shipping and handling, so I say wich one the 4.95 or the 18.98, then he hung up on me.
Does this sound unreasonable for me to ask about this, I was very nice.
Oh well, got it up the gazzoo again.
If any one cares it was mawonline.com
Don't think I'll go thier again, 23.93 shipping and handling charges on a 52.85 clutch!!!!!!!!!
guess he has more bills than me!!!!!!!!
