Hi Guys
Now I am confused. My wife was out riding with me today on my 2002 650 prairie now she is hooked. The 650 as we all know is way to big for a woman. I even have hard time after few hours riding with this beast. So I am looking into getting her a smaller quad 300 to 400 cc plus using it as my second ATV when I don't want to use the 650 because it so big.
Has anyone personally seen the new 360 Prairie or have review?.
I was also thinking of a Honda Rancher but want something with 2wd/4wd switchable like my 650. My wife is 5,6 145lbs so please let me know what your wifes ride. Need something with easier steering too.

ATV magazine has a little info on the 360 in their buyers guide 2002 mag.Kaw Prairie 360 is air cooled 362cc four stoke.Same type tranny as 650 including E.B.S..The gear selector high low reverse. Selectable 4WD 2WD.Also has front differential lock control like the 650. MacPherson struts up front and single shock aluminum swingarm on rear.Brakes are simalar to 650 disc up front and wet brake on rear.Sounds good!

We have a 01 Arctic Cat 300 4x4. My husband really wanted a 500 but that big of a bike just scared me. The thought of one of those things turning over on me just turns my stomach. The IRS on the AC is a dream to ride and even when we double it dosen't seem to lose power. He also deer hunts and hauling deer is a breeze. I am 5'2" 120lbs and have no problem handling the AC. I have piece of mind knowing if I turned it over on me(ACats are almost impossible to turn over within reason) I could get it off. I might not could stand it up again, but thats ok. Alot of folks are trading in good bikes for that 500i too so keep an eye out. We got our 300 4x4 with 21 miles on it for 3500.00,no tax! That was the selling point for us. The bike was brand new. Our AC now has almost 100 miles on and so far it is a great bike.

I think the 2wd/4wd swichability option is overrated. Frankly, I don't notice much difference between the 2wd and 4wd Ranchers! The exception might be if you ride a lot on pavement.

Thanks for replys

Well got a real good deal plus heard very good reviews for this and other message boards about the Honda recon .So when the offer for 2001 recon with just 15 hrs for $2300.00 came my way I purchased it.
I figure the wife will use this for few months and sell it .if she really gets into it I will get she something like a Kodiak ,Rancher or maybe even a rincon.
The recon handles very well and had light feeling to it. I think its good starter quad.
I guess the Kodiak must be really good quad You just dont see to many used ones 4 sale.
As we all know If I get HER the rincon it becauuse I want it to ride too. Will also look at the 360 Prairie which is coming out in March I think price is around $5500.00 but will have to add $400.00 to get new tires since kawaski uses Dunlop as stock tires .The stock tires that came on my 650 Priarie really stink.I can use other words for these tires but replaced them with 26 Goodyear Mudrunner What a difference.I wish it would snow so I can try out my Cycle Country Vee Plow Blade.

Hey Tamp,
The first time i took my wife 4-wheeling she was hooked to ,so i gave her my 250recon.I thought because she's small she needed and wanted a smaller quade. But after our next trip she just hated the thing ,she said that she wanted something to keep up with every one else.So one of the other girls that rides with us let her drive there 500scrambler4x4 and that's all it took. Now she has a 99 500scrambler4x4 and loves it.Plus she can smoke all of us now!lolBut really not just use guys like the power.THere are 3 girls that ride with us and they all have 500scramblers4x4 a they can keep up with us guys and our big quads(400exsplorer,500H.o.sportmans,450foreman,big bears)and they can handle them just as well.Go luck with what ever you all deside to go with.
