Before you do anything, replace your sparkplug. If you rolled it, chances are that you soaked your plug with oil. It ran fine then because your engine and the plug was already hot. Now you have oil soaked on the plug that isn't going to fire.
If for some chance that doesnt do it, check all the simple things like switchs and connections.
It's not going to run fine when you park it and then not crank the next day unless the plug is fouled, your switch is off, or you are out of gas.

A carburetor or any other componet for that matter is NOT going to go bad over night. I dont know your mechanical ability, but have seen awful examples of it everyday from customers. A little common sense goes a long way in fixing the problem you guys are having.
My suggestion now would be for you two to take it to the shop before you REALLY screw something up.

Hay guys,
Compression, spark, and fuel is the three areas to cover while trouble shooting here.
If you have spark and compression, than you have a fuel problem.
Nows a lot suggestion makes alot of sense, but the mo has a problem with filling the air box up with crank case oil, so pull the air filter and leave it out while trying to trouble shoot!
Also turn the fuel on and crack rhe float bowl drain and make sure you have a good fuel flow, also flow the first amont in a paint cap or something, rule any water out in the gas.
Good luck
