My buddy has got copied Dreamcast games. What all do you have to do to copy them ? Do you have to have a chip in your dreamcast in it or what. Or do you have to have some special program ?

 

Dreamcast CDs are hard to copy but easy to play. You dont need a chip, just a boot disk to get the game going (but most games have the boot routine included). You need to use a special program which only works with certain CDRoms to rip a game, since they are 1 gig CDs, and if the game is bigger than 700mb (size of a CD-R) then you need to cut some movies out or if you really know what you're doing, compress the movies tighter to make it fit. Best bet is just search the net for dreamcast game images, usually in the Discjuggler format (a burning program) then burn them.

Try searching for "dreamcast" at oth.net (any FTP program) or tracker-tracker.com (hotline client FTP program) is a good start.

Yup there is, probably similar to copying DC games and probably some bigger ones won't be possible to copy, but I've seen lots of PS2 games around, I don't know if they use Discjuggler as well yet, I will give it a try soon.

Aight im gonna make this easy,download Kazaa,and search under evrything(u will see what im talkin about),search for the game(alredy compresses)download and burn it,easy as that,no boot up disc or nuttin

 

what about Xbox games ?

 

What I've heard: xbox games are all funky DVD releases (the PS2 copies around are regular 700mb CD releases) as well as have an encryption.. so to copy those you would need to first find a way to read the "funky" DVD (modifying a DVD-rom firmware probably like some ambitious folks did to read Dreamcast CDs), over come the copy protection, then you need a DVD burner, a mod chip (and possibly a game shark as well, like Ps2 mod chips require), then people need to download up to 4.3 gigs of DVD image (a "mere" .7 gig CD takes up to 6-10 hours some times). So unfortunately I dont think it will happen for a while. Best to go out and spend the small fortune for Halo. (Its worth it)
