Picked up a sales brochure at the Goodyear shop that explained the new tire they designed for the Honda Rancher 2x4 models. Goodyear designed the tread in broken patterns to minimize the normal tire howl on pavement or hard packed dirt. Rather than having the lugs spaced uniformly all around the tire they spaced them unevenly.

The design works as I notice my Rancher 2x4 is quiet on pavement while my Honda Recon howls like crazy.

What!

I can't hear you!

I wondered about all that howling on my Recon.

Thanks for the info

The only sizes in the Goodyear Tracker CL are the 24-8-12 and 25-11-10
which is the stock tire in the 2 wheel drive Honda Ranchers. Goodyear calls it a 'pitched' tread design. Whatever they call it it works.
