Does anyone know where i can find a complete list of parts to build a 400ex? I think it will be a good project for me and my father to do, but im not having any success in finding all the parts and how much they might cost.

Try here. Service Honda Parts
Click on "Hard Parts" and you can look up any parts and part numbers you need. You can also get their price.

You would probably be better off buying a used 400EX or even a new one. You would have way to much money in building one from ground up.

It might be a fun project, but building one with all factory honda parts will probably cost twice what it takes to buy one. (sorry)

It does sound like a fun project, but I would suggest building a hopped up modded version instead. If you're going to be buying the parts and starting from scratch then you could go with a ton of aftermarket parts and end up with something alot better than a 400EX.

Do you guys think it would cost more or less if i went with aftermarket parts?? I know i could go for the cheap parts, but if i am goin to do it, i want to do it right... and maybe save a little if i can... I am also considering goin out and looking for a junked/wrecked ex and maybe go from there... any opinions on that subject
