Raptor Performance Question
#1
Has anyone installed the K&N Stage II Kit but retained the stock exhaust. If so was it a noticable improvement. I want to juice up the Rap but not loose the stock appearance. You hot rodders out there know my intenetion's

Guilty. K&N stage 2 jet kit, ProDesign air filter adapter with K&N air filter and an Outerwear. Rubber flaps cut out of the snorkle per the jet kit instructions. Stock pipe because of MI's 94 dB limit in public riding areas (Silver Lake Sand Dune area specifically). It was a WAY noticable improvement. Pulls harder with quicker response. Dirt Wheels got 3 HP just dinking with the main jets and not changing the needles or springs. I'd say the setup I put on was at least 5-5 1/2 HP over stock. Keeping in mind the Raptor comes jetted lean to begin with. These mods are definitely worth it and are the basis for any future additions, such as a pipe.

With these modifications to the air box and snorkel, do you worry about riding in deep water or muddy conditions? I ride in these conditions frequently and would hate to suck in any water or dirt and ruin my motor. How much did these modifications cost? I am mainly concerned with water getting into the airbox and that is why I am hesitant to make any of those modifications at this time. Any input would be helpful.
