They had to "life flight" a kid out of our subdivision yesterday after he ran into a fence with his ATV. Seems he and another kid were riding on an open pipeline and ended up running into each other before hitting the fence. I also hear he wasn't wearing a helmet and appeared to have broken his neck.

thats too bad for the atv reputation, but it sounds like his own fault, lest he won't be riding anymore and give use more bad press.

Once again we have narrow minded people that all they seem to care about is what happens to the ATV reputation. It's amazing what some people think. I work for a pediatric transport service that has to fly all over the world to pick up children like this and bring them back to our hospital in Dallas. I do not blame the children for incidents like these. I blame the parents for not insisting they where helmets and for not being more stringent in the teaching these children how to ride. If that would have happened to 2 16 yr old kids driving a car, would you say that hurts the Automobile industry? Some one needs to say a prayer for these families involved instead of critisizing the kids. Springdrl, sorry this happened in your neighborhood.

I hate to hear news like this.It is so terrible.I don't care if hurts the atving community's reputation or not. That is an awful thing to say.

As U guys know accidents happen. And ussually they happen so suddenly U don't have time to react.I think anyone is at fault in this.It was an accident. They happen. This world is so screwed up.I mean the kid probably will never walk again.U guys are talking about who's fault it is?That is just heartless.

Sweetcorn U sound like the kind of person giving atving good press let me tell ya!

Parents have to learn that these are not toys, they look easy to ride but one wrong move and your in it.

For some positive news, I read a news report last week where some guy was jogging down a dirt road, I think in florida, when two dogs attacked him. They where ripping him to shreds when a guy on an atv came along and chased the dogs off on his ATV, then rode the guy to safety and called 911. Good going.

Similar accident happened in Conroe. Go Cart ran up under a car and killed a youngster not wearing a helmet. Now cops have been thick as flies enforcing riding on the road for all unlicensed vehicles. Accidents happen and we all suffer from a few not using good judgement.

Subject #2 for Texas riders.

There is a new ATV park opened that is about a thousand acres by Lake Livingston. Cost $10 per day to ride. #936-767-4667.
